As the weather warms up, many parents take their children out for walks in strollers on sunny days. However, the quality of children’s strollers varies widely, so parents need to pay close attention when making their purchases. The website of the Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision has released the results of its “dual-random” inspection. Among 50 batches of children’s products randomly selected from 47 companies across the province, six batches produced by six companies were found to be substandard, resulting in a substandard product detection rate of 12%.
The reporter learned that this random inspection of 47 manufacturing enterprises (50 batches) included 11 medium-sized enterprises (13 batches) and 36 small-sized enterprises (37 batches). The proportions of small and medium-sized enterprises among the inspected companies were 23.4% and 76.6%, respectively. All the substandard products found in the random inspections came from small-sized enterprises.
Finally, some industry insiders can choose to purchase strollers. When making a purchase, they can look for the CCC mandatory certification mark or logo on the product packaging. Additionally, it’s best to opt for single-stroller models—preferably “dedicated” ones.
Specifically, when selecting a stroller, you should carefully inspect its appearance, handlebars, components, and seat belts. At the same time, you should test the wheel brakes and the locking mechanisms for opening and closing to ensure that the stroller moves smoothly and steadily on the ground, that the wheels stay on course, and that the front wheels turn flexibly forward, as shown in Figure 8.
